I'm trying to catch up on my reading and hated to read this brief essay of your very difficult week. Since we are two months out, I'm going to assume you are better physically and that some of the rest of your burden is lighter.

Thank you for asking. Yes, I am physically better, and am forever thankful for free health care (I live in Australia) and the discovery last century of broad spectrum antibiotics.

Daylight saving ends this weekend and it truly heralds the start of winter - darker mornings and darker evenings. But right now autumn reigns supreme, albeit a little too dry with little promise of useful rains forecast, not even for winter. An El Nino looms in the Pacific, aiming squarely at Australia. My garden is not happy, and I am worried.

My head is deep in work. I’m writing a year 10 learning plan for Always Learning Books, to finish the collection. I promised this would be ready last October. I really want to write fiction and have an idea I’m keen to explore, but meh, I promised. Finishing tasks is always hard for me. My desktop is a pile of drafts at various stages of production. Some decades old!

Good to hear you are physically better. But my goodness you have so much on your plate!
