I'm just getting started with my story based pub, but I think my chapters are way too long as weekly posts (13 to 19 minute reads, and much longer if read aloud π)
Is that too long π€?
I think it's a bit too long, and you're probably gonna say it's a π€ bit too long, and I'll agree, but be honest π , cuz yours was an easy read, and mine has to have chapter sections like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.
I'm writing (fun) Educational Content ... within a Story Framework π€π€
But ... Is it too long π
(especially if sent out by email ... 19 minute reads?)
Itβs hard to know what is going to work. Iβm writing longer stories as well, but the ones Iβm publishing on Substack are meant to be short and sweet - something that can be read aloud over breakfast, followed by a quick chat if the kids are interested. Thatβs more in line with my style of homeschooling.
I really enjoyed this. As a parent, it reminded me how important it is to recognize that kids donβt all participate in the same way. Sometimes watching, observing, or taking on a different role is exactly what helps them feel included.
Iβd love to know what your children think about the stories April. I have so many ideas tumbling out of my head, I think Iβve finally landed on what I want to do for the rest of my life. βοΈπ
Iβll make a plan to read it to my daughter ASAP after we get through this crazy week and weekend. And Iβll report back. Iβll let her know youβd love feedback and that will encourage her to provide some specifics. π€£ She gets into it if she thinks sheβs got a job to do.
Itβs so true. We took our daughter to her first concert of her favorite musician this past weekend. It was a small venue, all ages, but she was the only kid there. Afterward, she got to sing karaoke, which she has wanted to do for a while but was too nervous. She did it and got tons of support. Learning comes in all kinds of packages. π
I π«Ά luv this storytelling format.
Conversational + you get invested in getting to know the characters.
Thank you!

Your stories sound interesting!
The heart of my stories is about:
The Magic Found Inside Seeds

How Seeds Turn Into Food

What a fun story and so realistic!
Thank you!
Oh, this is just perfection. Writing stories about ordinary homeschool kids. We're going to have to read this as a family. π

Haha, that's exactly what I told me mums (my Mother) yesterday.
I found my lifelong calling! π€ Finally a direction and drive in my life!

Crazy weeks and weekends are packed with learning - which simply doubles the fun and exhaustion!
