Free Homeschool Resources - October Newsletter
Free, all-in-one, homeschool curriculum
Do you want a homeschooling option that saves you time, providing all subjects and lessons in one place?
Looking for a complete, ready-to-use program to help you feel more confident about covering everything your child needs to learn?
Needing something that includes daily plans, assignments, and assessments that you don’t have to create yourself?
If your answer is yes, read on!
In this newsletter you’ll find a brief description of, and links to, some of the popular free all-in-one homeschool curriculum packages currently available.
Families choose often choose to use these resources to simplify their homeschooling planning and reduce the stress of piecing together multiple resources — although our Always Learning Homeschool Learning Plans for each Australian school year level also fulfils this function and introduces you to a wider selection of resources.
The homeschool curriculum packages listed below should offer a complete, ready-to-use structure that covers all core subjects and often include daily lessons, assignments, and assessments, hopefully saving you significant time in preparation. You need to be realistic however: home education by its nature means that the parent is facilitating and supervising the learning program, which usually means being there, helping your child learn, answering questions, setting up and locating materials to use, time spent printing, etc.
For new homeschoolers, tapping into an already made curriculum can provide some confidence and guidance, helping you to ensure that your children are meeting your educational goals without you needing to constantly cross-check curriculum standards.
And the fact that they’re free makes it especially appealing if you are family on a tight budget, by offering access to educational materials without financial strain, while still allowing flexibility to adapt or supplement lessons to suit your child’s individual interests and pace.
You might not find what you are looking for at first: chances are you might encounter content that doesn’t align with your family values, or you might find it less than what you expected. Many of these free-all-in-one curriculum programs have been developed by homeschooling families, sharing what worked for their own children, and made available for others.
This month in my paid subscription I’m highlighting four more of the relatively easy-to-use, free online whole curriculum resources available. In August we reviewed Cool Australia, Ochre and ARC, three Australian based options. This month we’re looking off-shore, at what’s available elsewhere in the world.
Whether you're a homeschooling parent, a classroom teacher, or a student, and you need something to help you get started, I’m hoping you’ll find something here to help make learning a lot easier for you.
Every every month I add another post from my Free Homeschool Resources Series, highlighting my favourite free resources which cover learning in each of the eight Australian Curriculum key learning areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Languages, Technologies, and The Arts, for my paid subscribers.
Plus, each week my paid subscribers will get either a homeschool template, checklist or unit study from my Always Learning collection of resources.
Subscribe to my free newsletter and you’ll never miss an update: every new post is sent directly to your email inbox. Free or paid, you’ll still get at least one email each week. My regular weekly posts won’t ever be behind a paywall.
